Austria Stausee Wasserfallboden [drone]

This high-level water reservoir can be found in the mountains around Zell am See-Kaprun. It is the first of the two.

There are options to stay overnight in smaller huts to be up there for sunrise/sunset. The light conditions can be pretty challenging because of light and shadow differences. It's helpful to have a polarization filter.

You must take two buses and a lift to get to the upper reservoir, which is the best option to capture the lower lake. There is a stop at the lower lake where you could get off the bus as well. Parking at the station is free of charge. Be aware of the operation hours (no operation in winter at all). You could hike up, but it will be long and steep. In winter, don't try to hike up by yourself because of the danger of avalanches.
