There is an Observation Tower that is perfect for watching the cranes in spring and fall during their Migration from Scandinavia and the Baltics to France and Spain. Since crances are very shy and have a long flight distance that observation tower is good for watching the birds and not be seen.

Photography Tips

Go there one hour before sunset when the birds are gathering and getting ready to occupy their sleeping places. Alternatively, the hour just before sunrise is also great, when the crane take up to fly to the nearby feeding Areas.

Travel Information

parking is available in the vicinity of the Observation Towers. It is also recommended to collect a multitude of good Information on the cranes and the nearby Wildlife protection area at "Moorwelten", located About 5 Kilometers from the Observation Tower. https://www.moorwelten.de/
