The ruins of the old bearing tower are located at Cap Arkona, the most northern point of the island of Ruegen in Mecklenburg- Vorpommern, Germany. The ruins are standing in the ocean making it perfect for some long exposures.

Photography Tips

The steep sand dunes are very unstable. Be careful when walking to the spot. Normaly the yellow sand dunes make a great contrast to the blue of the sea. But if you can, come here in winter, when the snow covers the dunes, making the scene almost surreal.

Travel Information

Limited parking is provided at the lighthouse of Cap Arkona. From there follow the path to the beach and turn right. After a few minutes you will reach the ruins.
