Snæfellsjökull Mountain is a 700,000-year-old glacier-capped stratovolcano close to the town of Hellnar on the western side of Iceland. This is located in Snæfellsjökull National Park. This mountain was included in the novel Journey to the Center of the Earth (1864) by Jules Verne as the entrance to the cave that is the start of the journey.
