Japan Itsukushima Shrine Torii, Miyajima, Japan
Itsukushima Shrine is located on Miyajima island, close to Hiroshima, Japan. One of the most scenic shrines in Japan. The island in general is extremly beautiful, definitivly worth a visit.
Photography Tips
Check the tide before you go. If its low tide you can walk under the gate, if its high tide its completly flooded and you can go there by boat. From inside the shrine you also have a great view, but it coasts a small fee for entering. You can also pass the temple and take photos from the sides of the bay.
Travel Information
To get to Myajima you can take the train from Hiroshima to get to Miyajimaguchi. From there you can take the ferry over to the island. There are cabs on the island but you can do most of the touristic spots by walking.
