The Museum Zaanse Schans is established in 1994, is located in the Zaanse Schans village. It has a collection of well-preserved historic windmills and houses; the ca. 35 houses from all over the Zaanstreek were moved to the museum area starting in 1961

It is a open Museum. That means you can go through it 24/4 but the Houses are only open on working hours. Best time is sunrise, then you're almost alone.

Beautiful exposure! If I may add another tip: for those who would like to shoot night and dawn, and have a stroll around the windmills, landscape and the small village, you may want to book an amazing bed and breakfast place called "Heerlijck Slaapen Op De Zaanse Schans". If you are lucky to get the rooms at the back, you can shoot at leisure the entire night and morning right from your garden/patio a series of typical dutch (Zaans) houses alongside the river.
