Norway Tungeneset

  • Please log in or sign up for free to see the GPS coordinates & weather for this photo spot
The Tungeneset rest area is located on the tip of the headland that separates the Steinsfjord from the Ersfjord. A footbridge made of Siberian larch leads over the rocks and offers a view of the razor-sharp peaks of Okshornan, also known as the "Devil's Teeth", on the island of Senja in northern Norway. It is also possible to see seals and other marine mammals surfacing.

Photography Tips

This spot has endless possibilities. There are shallow pools to use as reflective surfaces, interesting rock formations, mountains... almost any focal length is usable here. If you're here between the nights from Autumnal Equinox to the Spring equinox it's also possible to include auroras in this scene. At sunset, the peaks on the other side of the fjord (the Teeth of the Devil) are just golden up! There are a few people and the place is so quiet.
