United Kingdom Tower Bridge
Tower bridge was officially opened in 1894 after 50 designs were considered for addressing the problem of providing a crossing of the river Thames at that point but also allowing sailing ships into the area nearer to London Bridge which is about half a mile upstream. The architect who won was one of the judges (oh dear!). The construction includes a lot of granite and, under blue and white paint, a lot of Gothic ironwork. It’s well worth close inspection.
Also accessible (there are tours) are the massive old engines and some great views from the walkway across the top.
As you approach at night, it is nicely lit by LEDs. As you can see, some very good shots are possible.

Travel Information
Tower Hill, from the late 1400s until the mid 1700s, the site where tainted noblemen were beheaded, now hosts the nearest tube station on the Circle an District lines. Just walk from there.
Its London, don't even think about getting a car park there unless you're staying at a nearby hotel.
