A route to Zion National Park’s famous “Subway” you’ll pass numerous cascades and waterfalls. After the much-photographed Archangel Falls and just before you get to the Subway, you’ll come to another iconic photo spot called “The Crack”, which is a 25-foot-long fissure in the red sandstone about 3 to 4 inches wide with water rushing through it. Photographers like to scatter yellow leaves around the crack in the fall to enhance the dramatic scene.

Photography Tips

For this and dozens of other falls and cascades along the creek, you’ll want a tripod.
