This is one of the huts at Port Lockroy formally a British research station that was abandoned in 1962. In 1996 it was renovated and is now a museum and the most southern Post office in the world it is operated by the United Kingdom Antarctic Heritage Trust. The trust collects data on the impact of tourists on penguins with 1/2 the island open to tourists and the other 1/2 not.
