Antarctica Whalers Bay Houses, Deception Island

Whalers Bay is a haunting, abandoned settlement on Deception Island that was once a major whaling station in the early 20th century. Rusting tanks, collapsed buildings, and even old boats still lie scattered across the black volcanic sand, creating an eerie, frozen-in-time atmosphere.

Travel there is only possible via expedition cruise, typically departing from Ushuaia and crossing the Drake Passage; landings depend heavily on weather and sea conditions.
