Charlotte Bay is a prime feeding ground for humpback whales, where large numbers gather to feed on krill during the Antarctic summer. Sightings can include dozens to hundreds of whales, often seen surfacing, tail-slapping, or engaging in coordinated feeding. The bay’s relatively open waters make whale encounters especially frequent and visually striking.
