Mountain lion, León de Montaña, is also the name given to the puma in Argentina. A rock formation by the sea that resembles a lion's head gives the Monte León National Park its name.
This park, south of Comandante Luis Piedra Buena, protects typical Patagonian steppe, canyons and an impressive part of the Atlantic coast. It is also the habitat of pumas.
A wooden plank path leads up to a viewpoint with a view of a sea lion colony.
