After you got up again by Laguna Schmoll, you have an incredible view of the surrounding mountains and valleys. The upper area of the mountains is very rocky and the lower area is forested very green.

Photography Tips

Your lens should be as wide -angled as possible. I used 16mm on a full -frame camera.

Travel Information

At the start of the hike you can get to Cerro Cathedral with bus line 55. You have to hike about 12 km to get to Laguna Toncek and the Refugio Frey. You have to reserve the overnight stay in advance or you wander back. I took the way back on an alternative route that goes over the Laguna Schmoll and to the Cerro Catedral chairlift.
