On the hike to the chairlift on Cerro Catedral you have to walk through this rock formation. This looks spectacular. From up here you also have a great view of the mountains and valleys

Travel Information

At the start of the hike you can get to Cerro Cathedral with bus line 55. You have to hike about 12 km to get to Laguna Toncek and the Refugio Frey. You have to reserve the overnight stay in advance or you wander back. I took the way back on an alternative route that goes over the Laguna Schmoll and to the Cerro Catedral chairlift.
