Argentina Viewpoint, Mirada del Doctor
The view was fantastic. The viewpoint is directly above Lago Frey. At the back of Lago Frey, there are steep grey rock faces, which are richly greened despite the enormous ascent. Behind it lies the El Brazo Tristeza of Lake Nahuel Huapi.
Photography Tips
Your lens should be as wide-angled as possible. I used 16mm on a full-frame camera and it wasn't enough. That's why I put several portrait pictures together into a panorama.
Travel Information
It's the last day of a 5-day trekking tour. Before we set off for our destination of Pampa Linda, we made a stopover at the Mirada del Doctor viewpoint, which is easy to reach from Laguna Ilon. One way you need around 1,5 hours.
You need full camping equipment because, at Laguna CAB and Laguna Creton, you are in the wilderness.
We were quite alone in this place.
