Australia Sugarloaf Rock
Sugarloaf Rock is a large rock out crop surrounded by the ocean. It provides a spectacular subject when combined with sunset colours and/or the night sky. This is also a very interesting location during storms when the ocean waves crash over it.
Photography Tips
A tripod is necessary at this location and wide angle works very well here. Try shooting the landscape in portrait orientation to allow for the maximum amount of sky.
At certain times it is posible to get the setting moon to silhouette the rock.
Be very, VERY careful when shooting from anywhere other than the lookout. You will need to scramble over rough, uneven ground to get to this hooting location.
Be VERY aware and extremely cautious if shooting here during storm events. There are big waves crashing that may pose a significant risk. If there is ANY doubt, shoot from higher up and/or further back.
