You can reach the trail with an easy hike starting from a small parking lot. Drive through the Defereggen Valley toward the “Staller Sattel.” Shortly before reaching it, there is a small parking lot (Wanderparkplatz Grünbichl) on the left side of the road, with signs guiding you to the spot. Alternatively, you can park in “Maria Hilf” near St. Jakob in Defereggen and hike up the trail in the direction of “Alpe Stalle,” then follow the signs to “Hirschbichl.” Another option is to continue toward the “Staller Sattel” and park shortly before the “Außerwegerhütte, Staller Alm” on the left-hand parking lot, from where you follow the signs to “Deferegger Pfannhorn / Hirschbichl.”
