Austria Hohenwerfen Castle

Hohenwerfen Castle is a medieval rock castle, situated on a 623-meter precipice overlooking the Austrian market town of Werfen in the Salzach valley, approximately 40 kilometers south of Salzburg. The fortress is surrounded by the Berchtesgaden Alps and the adjacent Tennen Mountains.

Photography Tips

I used a drone to get this shot of the Castle, there are many great spots to capture images of the castle with a traditional camera as well.

Travel Information

Parking is at the foot of the castle and it will take about 15 minutes to get to the castle from there eon foot, there is a gondola that goes to the top but it will cost you.
