Beautiful view of the Lichtenfels castle ruins across the lake. The lake is called "Ottensteiner Stausee" and is especially worth visiting during sunrise, when the light and reflections are at their most magical.

Photography Tips

Any focal length from 16mm upwards works great here. This particular shot was taken with a 35mm lens. If you’re lucky, you might even spot a beaver swimming by – they occasionally glide past the shore and make for a charming surprise in the stillness of the morning.

Travel Information

There are parking spots available at both ends of the bridge. The walk to the photo spot takes around 10 minutes. To reach the shore, you’ll need to walk underneath the bridge – sturdy shoes recommended, especially after rain.
