Austria Hinterer Gosausee

The Hinterer Gosausee is the second smaller lake at the end of a valley. Behind it you can see the mountains of the Dachstein region.
Shortly before you reach the lake there is a waterfall right next to the hiking path.

Photography Tips

The lake with the mountains is spectacular on its own at any time. And on the shore you can find many foreground elements to add to your pictures.

Travel Information

The only option is to hike from the large parking lot at the Gosausee. It is a simple walk suited also for children but it takes about 1,5 hours to get there.

At the other end of the lake is a nice restaurant/hut with refreshments.
