Austria Stift Melk (Melk Abbey)
Stift Melk (Melk Abbey) is a magnificent Benedictine monastery located in Lower Austria. It sits on a high rocky outcrop overlooking the Danube River. Founded in 1089, the complex was completely rebuilt between 1702 and 1736. Today, it stands as one of Europe’s most famous and impressive examples of Baroque architecture.
