Austria Gritschbach​-​Wasserfall / Silbertal

The Gritschbach stream descends a total of 30 metres (98 ft) over three cascading waterfalls. During the Ice Age, glaciers frequently altered the courses of streams, creating new channels. Since the end of the last Ice Age around 10,000 years ago, the stream has had little time to carve deeply into the region’s hard gneiss bedrock.

The Gritschbach Waterfall can only be reached on foot or by mountain bike, either from Silbertal or from the Panorama Gasthof Kristberg. The Panorama Gasthof Kristberg is conveniently accessible from Silbertal via the Kristberg cable car.
