  • Please log in or sign up for free to see the GPS coordinates & weather for this photo spot
Boterlaerhof castle dates from the 16th century, around 1525. In 1626, it was bought by Jonker Dassa, who made it his country house.
Rubens and Napoleon once stayed at this castle.

In 1907, the castle burned down completely, but was rebuilt the same year.

The castle remained inhabited until 2009. After that, it was put to other uses.

In 2015, the carelessness of a few teenagers resulted in the castle being destroyed by fire again. Boterlaerhof Castle rose from its ashes in 2019 and now serves, among other things, as a centre for youth holidays.
