Salmon Glacier - the fifth largest in Canada, is a remnant of that last great age of glaciers. The self-guided sightseeing tour along Salmon Glacier Road, built to connect Stewart to mining interests, is a must when visiting the area.
On the way back, it´s worth while to stop at the Bear Viewing Platform to watch some wildlife

Travel Information

The glacier is located about 37 km north of Stewart, BC and Hyder, Alaska, just on the Canadian side of the border.
Hyder is accessible by road from British Columbia, located about 1500km north of Vancouver/BC or about 1000km south of Whitehorse/YK, when driving the Cassiar Hwy
