Canada Valley of Five Lakes
A 4.5 km (2.8 miles) loop hike passes five alpine lakes of various sizes and colors of brilliant emerald and blue.
Please note:
This view no longer seems possible at present. In July 2024, a severe forest fire broke out in Jasper National Park, which also severely affected the town of Jasper. Jasper National Park is currently undergoing reconstruction.
It is important to obey warning signs, avoid closed trails, and follow Parks Canada's safety instructions, as some areas are still under reconstruction.

Photography Tips
I recommend visiting in late spring/early summer when the lakes are full from spring runoff. This is grizzly bear country. Particularly in July and August, bears frequent areas near the Valley of the Five Lakes trail for the abundant berry crops so be “Bear Aware”. I always carry bear spray.
Travel Information
The Valley of the Five Lakes trailhead is 9 km (5.6 miles) south of Jasper, Alberta on Highway 93 (the Icefields Parkway). There is a large parking area with toilets.
