Canada Whistler Train Wreck Bridge
- Please to see the geo position & weather for this photo spot
This bridge leads to the site of a 1956 train wreck. Several of the train’s boxcars were pried from the wreckage and left in the forest where local graffiti “artists” have used them as their canvas many times over for the past 60+ years. It’s quite an incongruous site to see as you enter the dense old growth forest.
Pleaseto see the photography tips.
Parking for the trail is located at the Interpretive Forest parking off Cheakamus Lake Road on the east side of Highway 99 – turn left at the Function Junction lights when coming from the Village and the parking is the first left before the bus shelter. The bridge is approximately 1 km from the trailhead with minimal elevation gain, and once you cross the bridge you are right in the middle of the train wreck site.
