Every day at noon the noon gun is fired from the top the the Citadel. It is a unique opportunity to see a bit of history in action.

Photography Tips

Done't get too close to the cannon. When they set up to shoot everyone is pushed back behind a safety line at which point getting a shot is very challenging. Use a telephoto lens and back up around the corner of the walkway so you have an uninterrupted view. I shot at 1/1000 on high speed drive to capture the muzzle flash.
