Canada Lake O´ hara larch plateau hike
The upper plateau of the Lake O´hara, also called the alpine plateau offers amazing fall colors since it's full of larch trees. Wondering around is simply fantastic.
Photography Tips
Take a super wide angle with you. Best time is the end of September here. Don't go too late since the sun will disappear behind the mountains.
Travel Information
In order to get to Lake O'hara, you need to hike for around 11km till the shorelines. The hike is quite boring to be honest since you just walk over a street. If you book very early in advance, you can get a spot at the campsite or even the lodge. However, this needs to happen month in advance. If you have booked a spot, you can take a shuttle up and spare the hike.
From the lakeshores, it's another 3 kilometers up with another incline of some height.
Always carry bear spray with you and get familiarized with bear behavior.
