Canada Penouille sandbank
One spectacular area in the Parc national Forillon in the Gaspésie is the Penouille sandbank. The sandy beach to the south is a driftwood coast and bathing beach. On the north side, the salt marsh is a nature refuge. A tarmac footpath runs between the two. As part of this path, a generous 500 metre long wooden boardwalk forms a promenade along the shore with viewing points. Walking here is very pleasant.
Beyond the wooden boardwalk, a path branches off and leads through a forest to the salt marsh. It is lined with lichen and blueberry bushes, which create a beautiful colour contrast in autumn.
