This waterfall is located in the Parque Nacional Los Quetzales.

Photography Tips

To take (good) photos of the famous quetzals you need very long telelens and much time or luck. My photo of the Quetzal is anything but perfect, but due the difficulties to get such a shot I post it anyway.

Travel Information

The waterfall is about 1 h walk from next car park and you need to be in good physical condition to reach it (and have no heads for hights). The altitude of the park is quite high, between 2000 and 3000m. When I was there there we had 5 centigrade early in the morning (and you need to watch for the Quetzal in the morning) while on the beaches you have between 30 and 35 centrigrade.
