It's called "The Great Waterfall", a 78m drop and arguably the most impressive waterfall in Plitvice Lakes. During winter it freezes, making this landscape even more impressive.

Hi Antun, I'll be visiting Croatia in February 2018 for photography. Will the waterfall still be frozen at that time of the year?

Hi Freddy, It's really hard to say. Watyerfall will freeze if the temperature drops below -10ºC and stays that way for at least a week. I would suggest that you monitor weather forecast for Plitvice Lakes.

I've been there at the end of summer and I already liked it... but this is even more awesome, so I guess I need to come back to Plitvice during autumn and winter again... ;-)

Hi Manuel, You definitely need to come back:-) Summer is probably the least grateful for photography in this neck of the woods. The weather is too hot and there are so many tourists that you can hardly hear yourself think. The April and the late October are probably your best bet as far as the photography goes. Keep me posted if you happen to pass by.
