The construction of the building began in 1908 and it opened in 1915. The facade is very impressive.

The survey image has been taken later in the morning from the upper level of a bus conducting the Havana City Tour. It is a very convenient way to explore the city (hop-on and hop-off bus). In January 2017 they charged 10 CUCs per person. The second picture has been taken from roughly the same spot at street level shortly after sunset.
