The Statue of St. John of Nepomuk is the oldest on Charles Bridge, Prague.
In 1393,. St. John was thrown from the bridge into the river where he drowned. It has become traditional to touch the bridge at this point, to bring good fortune and ensure the visitor will return to the city of Prague.
