Czech Republic Charles Bridge — view from beneath (left side)

This viewpoint is located beneath Charles Bridge on the Malá Strana side, facing toward the Old Town. From this lower perspective, the bridge appears as a layered sequence of statues and arches gradually fading into space.

The atmosphere can be especially strong during cold early mornings when fog lingers above the river and the first sunlight begins to break through. While the upper part of the bridge is often crowded at sunrise, this lower section usually remains quiet and undisturbed.

A longer focal length works well here to simplify the scene and emphasize silhouettes rather than detail. In foggy conditions, fewer elements in the frame often lead to a stronger result.

Arrive 30–40 minutes before sunrise, especially in autumn or winter when mist is more likely to form above the river.

The location is easily accessible on foot from Malá Strana. The walkway beneath the bridge allows comfortable tripod use and enough space to move left or right along the railing.

Public transport stops are nearby (Malostranská metro / tram). No parking directly at the bridge.
