At the very end of the trail around Gundsømagle Sø, you’ll find this hidden wooden walkway disappearing into a sea of tall reeds. It’s one of the most immersive parts of the nature reserve — a quiet, narrow path that feels like stepping into another world. Surrounded by whispering grasses and the gentle rustle of wind, this spot offers a raw, cinematic atmosphere that captures the essence of Denmark’s wetlands. The walkway leads to a secluded viewing point near the lake, where the reeds open up to reveal wide, calm water views.

This spot works beautifully during the golden hour when the low sun grazes the tops of the reeds, creating warm highlights and soft, diffused shadows below. A 35mm or 50mm lens captures the intimacy of the walkway while still giving depth to the scene. Get low for a stronger leading-line effect that pulls the viewer into the image. Early morning offers mist and rich textures, while evening light enhances the contrast between the warm tones of the reeds and the cool wooden path. The full trail is part of a circular route through meadows, forest, and lakeside reeds — an easy and scenic walk ideal for photographers and bird enthusiasts.
