Egypt White Desert NP

The White desert is a photographers dream. So many different compositions of white stone formations that look different in every kind of li&ht. All these shots were taken in the so called chicken area, to the east of the famous „chicken under a tree“ formation.

There are a just a few people out there but in the desert, people leave traces. You are much better of, driving a bit away from the main spot to find foregrounds without footsteps or jeep tracks in it.
I have camped two nights in different parts and for me half an hour before and after sunset were best. It’s also worth shooting at night.
I used a polarizer for the images and I highly recommend to do so. This darkens the sky at daytime and let’s the white of the rocks pop out in the evening.
