Estonia Red Rocks of Kallaste

The only steep bank of Lake Peipus (Peipsi järv) is at Kallaste. The reddish sandstone cliff drops down to the water up to six meters deep. The rock is different in firmness, in places also soft. Thus small caves are washed out. Swifts nest in the walls.
