The wreck of the Lady Elizabeth at Whalebone Cove is one of the most striking historic sites near Stanley. The rusting iron hull, grounded since the early 20th century, reflects the region’s maritime past and changing conditions over time. It’s an easy stop to explore, with good views of the wreck from the shoreline.

Photography Tips

Use a bit of foreground to give the image a bit more dynamic than just the ship itself. Try out different perspectives like gras, sand or water in the unsharp foreground.
