The humid conditions and very cold temperatures create amazing shapes on the trees around Kuusamo. After sunset (mid to late afternoon in winter) the sky turns pink. As it is dark so early, there are pretty strong sources of artificial light which you can use to give the trees structure.

Photography Tips

Keep batteries in a warm place. Just put them into the camera while you‘re shooting otherwise they‘ll be empty pretty soon at -30 Celsius.
