Finland Maari

When you want a brief break from the old town , go to Maari with a peaceful atmosphere, this is a nice short walk and a magnificent view of the exterior of the Cathedral, serving as a landmark of the old town. This route can also be used as a path, which is a slightly more demanding route along steep stairs leading up to the historic Castle Hill.

Early morning is definitely the best time to photograph this location. For this particular shot, I used the soft backlight of the rising sun to capture the cathedral emerging from the morning fog, with the park's pathway creating a natural leading line towards the historic buildings.

A medium telephoto lens works particularly well to compress the different layers of houses and emphasize the cathedral in the background. Try shooting directly towards the sunlight to capture the glowing mist, but be careful not to overexpose the highlights.
