If you want to shoot Northern lights you should avoid artificial lights. Just a bit out of Luosto there are some nice options which you can choose for your shots in complete darkness. One of them is the Santas house.

Photography Tips

Northern Lights setting: wide angle, most open aperture that is possible with your lens, tripod and lots of batteries! Make sure your settings are set to manual focus and look for the right sharpness. The image stabilization on the lens should also be switched off.

It is just a 10 minute drive from Luosto. Park your car at the street Kaikoseläntie.
