Finland Bike trails close to Ukko-Luosto, Pyhä-Luosto National Park

The area around Ukko-Luosto offers beautiful cycling trails through ancient forests, rolling fells and colourful autumn landscapes. There are several routes to choose from, ranging from easy gravel paths to more challenging mountain bike trails. The 17 km Ukko-Luosto loop is a great way to explore the surrounding nature, with scenic views and a route passing through the forest towards Lampivaara.

Autumn is a wonderful time for cycling photography, especially when the forests turn golden and red. The area on top of Ukko-Luosto is a great sunset spot. Place a person with the bike that looks into the direction of the sun. This gives your framing a nice composition.

Bring your tele-zoom lens with you. Up the fell is the best possibility to capture forest details in a nice mixed autumn dress.

You can start directly from Luosto, where several marked cycling routes begin. The Ukko-Luosto loop takes you around the fell and towards Lampivaara. Bike rentals are available in Luosto, and you can find route maps on the official Luosto website. Autumn cycling is possible while the trails are snow-free, but check trail conditions after heavy rain.
