Lean-to shelters (Laavu) are perfect places to take a break, enjoy the peaceful surroundings and relax in the middle of nature. Many have fireplaces where you can make a campfire, grill sausages or simply warm up while enjoying the views. Bring some snacks, make a coffee and take your time soaking up the beautiful scenery of Luosto.

Photography Tips

Use the sunset conditions for some nice light and shadow on the wood at the building. This gives the shelter a nice touch.

Travel Information

The trail starts at Orresokantie in Luosto, near the intersection with Pyhä-Luostontie. From the free Ahvenlampi parking area, walk approximately 200 metres to the trailhead. Follow the easy, 2.5 km gravel trail through the forest to the lean-to shelter, where you can enjoy beautiful views of Ukko-Luosto.
