Finland Linnavuori Rock, Lake Saimaa
Linnavuori Rock is a beautiful viewpoint overlooking the vast waters and forest-covered islands of Lake Saimaa in southeastern Finland. Surrounded by pine forests and rocky terrain, this elevated location offers wonderful panoramic views across one of Finland's most picturesque lake landscapes.
I visited Linnavuori during an excursion with Saimaa Holiday Oravi and was lucky enough to experience the landscape in beautiful golden-hour light. The warm sunlight illuminated the pine trees and rocky foreground, while countless small islands stretched across the calm blue water. It's a fantastic location to experience the peaceful beauty of Finnish Lakeland.

Photography Tips
For this particular shot, I used a vertical composition to include the rocky foreground, sunlit pine trees, and small islands in the distance. The trees create beautiful natural framing and add depth to the landscape.
Golden hour is especially rewarding here, as low sunlight bathes the forest in warm orange tones while the lake stays beautifully blue. Look for gaps between the trees to create interesting compositions, and use the rocky terrain in the foreground.
A wide-angle lens works well for capturing the entire landscape, while a medium telephoto lens can help isolate individual islands and compress the different layers of the scenery.
