France Lavender field in Valensole
In Valensole are many beautiful lavender fields. This one offers a nice background with those trees, making it a perfect spot for sunset photography. . It is close to the Angelvin lavender shop SW of Valensole on Route de Manosque.
Photography Tips
Use the trees and the lines of the fields to give your photos more depth. A visit to the plateau is especially worthwhile from mid-June to mid-July. Use a tripod! I took six shots at f8 at various focal distances with a Zeiss Apo Sonnar T 135 / 2.0 on my alpha7 riii and processed the raw stack with Helicon Focus to get this depth of view. Come to this place an hour before sunset or so. The colors of the flowers then change every 15 min.
Travel Information
There is a small unpaved parking across the road where you can park for free. Be careful when crossing the road, some of the motorists are paying more attention to the fields than to any crossing photographers...
