France Sunset behind Arc de Triomphe

Around the end of July/ beginning of August the sun sets smack in the middle of the Arc.

You can watch the progression of the sun. It's not obscured. From this point you also have the entire Champs Elysées before you.

Photography Tips

Be early. Take a tripod and a remote. Set up your camera before the sun reaches the Arc, it's hard to focus correctly from that point on. Bring something to drink and don't wander around unless you have someone to watch your equipment.

Travel Information

Well, if you're early enough you can just park right there. It's not official though.
Best way to get there is the Metro. There's a station on the northern end of the place.
