The Loire valley is well known for the spectacular castles and landscapes. Blois is no exception with a beautiful small castle and a nice overview of the city in France along the banks of the Loire.

Photography Tips

Bring your tripod and a wide-angle lens if you plan to shoot a large view including traditional boats on the river. Do not forget your telephoto lens to enjoy the details.
There is no best season, as the weather and the light change constantly. At sunrise, you may find some fog during autumn and spring.

Travel Information

You can reach the city by train (then it is easy to walk to the main attractions of the city, even if the Loire is a bit far from the city center) or by car (in which case you may park your car near the banks and search your point of view by walking nearby). The best view can be found on the left river bank near the "Jacques Gabriel" bridge.
