France Carrière du Barrois

This is a former industrial wasteland from the coal mining era, where nature has finally reclaimed its rights. It is often referred to as a canyon, as it is 3 km long and 850 meters wide.

The site has been made safe, the slag heap has been planted with vegetation, walking paths have been created, and the two lakes have been stocked with fish. Beautiful photos can also be taken with a drone.

Take the time to walk along the trail and stop near the ponds. For nature lovers, there are rare wildlife species to be seen.
