France Le Ravin de Corboeuf

Le Ravin de Corboeuf, nicknamed the “Auvergne Colorado”, is a spectacular natural site located in Rosières, in the Haute-Loire department of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region.

It’s a multicolored clay canyon, formed by the erosion of clay soils that are over 40 million years old.
The cliffs display hues ranging from red to green, creating a striking landscape reminiscent of the American Southwest.
The ravine spans 13 hectares and features steep slopes and unique geological formations.

Photographing Le Ravin de Corboeuf offers a chance to capture one of France’s most unique geological landscapes. The panoramic view from the top of the ravine is breathtaking, especially on clear days.

Golden Hour (early morning or late afternoon): Enhances the warm tones of the clay and adds depth to the textures.
Overcast Days: Soft light reduces harsh shadows and brings out the subtle color variations in the ravine.
